Cranberry

su’nl

Cranberries are small, hard, red berries that grow on low shrubs or vines in bogs across southern Canada and the northern U.S. The plants have small, oval-shaped evergreen leaves. White to pink flowers bloom in June and July. Mi’kmaq people ate cranberries fresh or preserved, and steeped them in water to make a tonic for bladder and urinary tract infections.
