Mint is an aromatic herb with square stems, opposite leaves, and small white, pink, or pale purple flowers. Plants typically grow 10 to 120 centimeters tall and spread easily—sometimes invasively—by underground roots. Mint is used in cooking, cosmetics, perfume, and medicine, and is also known to repel insects.
