Osprey
jikutelikej
Ospreys live an average of 15 to 25 years. Their bodies measure 53 to 58 centimeters long, and their wingspan ranges from 1.5 to 1.8 meters. They typically weigh between 1.4 and 2 kilograms. Ospreys are expert hunters—fish make up 99 percent of their diet. They live near lakes, rivers, ponds, and coastal waters around the world and catch fish by diving from 9 to 30 meters above the surface. Special gripping pads on their feet help them carry fish with their curved claws.
